I am honored to share that I have been awarded the Laura Bassi Fellowship by the Technical University of Munich (TUM) for my research on indoor microbiomes.

The project explores how indoor plants can influence the microbial diversity of built environments and how these microbial communities may interact with the human nasal microbiome. Through this work, I aim to better understand how the design of our indoor spaces – where we spend most of our time – can support healthier microbial ecosystems and, ultimately, human health.
The project is carried out at the Chair of Building Technology and Climate Responsive Design within TUM’s School of Engineering and Design, in collaboration with Prof. Michael Schloter (TUM, Central Institute for Food and Health) and Dr. Andreas Brachmann (LMU Biology).
The Laura Bassi Fellowship, funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts, supports female scientists in advancing their research and academic careers. I’m deeply grateful for this recognition and for the opportunity to expand my work at the intersection of architecture, microbiology, and environmental health.
